You Know Why FanFiction Is Awesome?

Because fanfiction has slash. Now, before you OF people get all high and mighty, I'm gay. A gay male. We aren't portrayed often or correctly by most movies, books, and TV shows. There aren't many gay men in the music scene I'm in. So reading it online makes me feel like I belong which is fucking awesome because otherwise I feel like I don't. It's not really there in the book world either. Unless it is an Issues book, it most likely will not be published mainstream. So even a world not afraid to explore the taboo still does not want to explore me. And no, it is not simply like all other fiction. Hell, half of you don't even explore gay culture, and I find that sad. I think my culture is cool. Oh, and do your fucking research. The majority of men cannot take dick without lube the first time. Know why? IT FUCKING HURTS unless he's been working himself up to it. I would know. But the next time you diss fanfiction, remember that your precious OF needs to learn a goddamn lesson in portraying everyone, not just you.
