Pen Name?

I find my name far too long and most people can't pronounce my surname. So I've been thinking of having a pen name or something. Do any of you use one? If so, how did you decide on what you chose?

I've been playing around with the idea of my first initials and using my grandmother's maiden name, which would be L. A. Stuart. Thoughts?

I wasn't sure if I should use my mother's maiden name, which is O'Brien, but I don't know. I'm no good at deciding on these kinds of things...
