I’m a History major. I fucking love history. I don’t know why. I mean, mostly it’s just a bunch of old, miserable-looking white men screwing everything up for everyone, but hot damn do I enjoy it. As you may know, alongside my love for history, I adore me some Billie Joe Armstrong (well I adore Green Day in general but for the sake of this blog post I’m gonna focus on good ol’ Beej). One night, I got the bright idea to combine those two loves in the form of “historic fan fiction”—that’s what I’m referring to it as anyway. It’s not in any way fan fiction of Sir John A. Macdonald or Henry Hudson or Abraham Lincoln (even though he does wear quite dapper hats worthy of a colourful story). Nope, my historic fan fiction will be taking a historic time and place and putting Billie right in the middle of it.
Basically, I have two stories drafted up and in the works right now. Both are BJA and both are historically relevant. Here’s the catch though: I won’t be posting either of them until I complete at least three or four of the six stories I have going right now. Two of them are coming close to an end; one is just a chapter away. But it’s gonna take me awhile to complete the other ones. They likely won’t be done until summertime. I don’t know. I’m really excited about the stories I have in the works right now, so I might post one when I complete two of my current stories. I’ll just have to play it by ear though. Six stories is too much and adding any more to it is basic insanity.
Anyway, I’m just excited about it so I thought I’d make a blog post about it. Apparently people really dig my BJA stories but it’s hard for me to wrap my head around that, I guess. I feel like this is more important to me than it is to anyone else, haha. And that’s fine, I’m gonna be excited about it all I want, regardless of if anyone else is. I was gonna give you guys spoilers, too, like what time each story will take place in, but I don’t know…I don’t want to ruin anything early in the game. I guess if people actually read this and want to know I might tell them, but it’ll be very vague. I’ve only given one person almost full deets on both of them but that’s because she’s too cool not to know, y’know? Gah. I’m just pumped, okay. Let me be pumped and disoriented.
In other news, I have term papers due in all of my classes in the next two weeks and final exams start two weeks after that. So I’m stressing hard about all that jazz and I’ve had no time to really work on writing new chapters for anything. I posted a couple updates recently but only because I’d already had them written up. Unfortunately I’m not always so prepared. So I might have to take a small hiatus just to get this education crap out of the way. Summer is fast approaching though, which means I’ll have plenty of time for writing, plus I’ll be back home and therefore inspired. It’s gonna be beautiful people, let me just say.
