One of my best friends lost his mother about five days ago. She was older and sickly, with a lot of mental and physical health problems. A few days later, the same friend goes to wake up his father only to find that his dad was gone. He too was sick and had a lot of health issues, but it just blew my mind how they both died within days of each other. I went to the double wake last night and today is the double funeral, both firsts for me. They were also both retired police officers so I'm thinking this funeral is going to be a pretty huge thing.
It's just so odd, I don't know how to comfort anyone about things like this. What do you say to a close friend who just lost both of his parents? How do you even begin to tell them that everything will be fine when you don't know if it will be?
Right now its just him and his sister who's a year older than me. I think they have some aunts and uncles who're trying to help them.
