Writing

Jesus christ, when I sit down to write, all ideas run out of my head like mental diarrhea.
I end up sitting, looking at a blank word doc or empty sheet of paper. I get the urge to write at the most inconvenient times, when I can't sit down and just go. It always happens when I'm at work or I'm out running errands.

People say to write about what you know. But that doesn't help when you don't know much.

I'm sitting in a Barnes and Nobel cafe, thinking maybe a change of scenery would help. It's not. I'm too distracted by people, the music they're playing (an opera version of All of Me which is making me laugh), smells from the cafe, which has caused me to order an amazing broccoli cheddar quiche (10/10 would recommend btw).

I'm just frustrated. I want to write. I start something and never finish it because my ideas just go away or I have no idea where to take the story next.

What inspires you to write? How do you sit down and just go at it? What setting are you in?
