Mistakes

I made a horrible mistake. I broke up with my boyfriend of 3 months. We've been best friends all our lives. I don't know what I was thinking. I've been reduced to reading old e-mails, letters, poems and crying 8 hours a day. I don't know what to do. I need some advice, he tried to get in touch with me but I wasn't home. So i'm not sure what to do. Should I try to talk to him? I'll understand if he pretty much rejects me but I love him. More than anything, he's THE one, I know that sounds really cliche but he is. I just don't even know anymore. If you think you can help, tell me?
