Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. A classic that's fantastic, wonderfully portrayed and heart breaking.
The movie "Charly" is based off of this book.

Also, Bloomability by Sharon Creech. It has a great message to it delivered in an interesting way. It's simple but enjoyable to read and it made me reaaaaally want to go to Switzerland.

Alice, I Think by Susan Juby. Okay, this book is hilarious. It's written from the perspective of a 'different', socially challenged girl who has been homeschooled because she made the mistake of going into grade one dressed up as a Hobbit. Her views on life are refreshing in ways that make you laugh out loud. Just make sure you're in a good mood when you're reading it.
There's two more books after this, which I haven't had the pleasure of reading and there's a television series based on it. Sah-weet. :tehe:

Yesterday it was A child called It, today it's Nick and Norah's infinite playlist. Never had any book kept me that high and that low in at the same time and from the very first page to the very last one. And 3 doors down - She don't want the world was on a repeat for the whole time. And it was something. :cute:

It's about this mob in England. The original leader is murdered by a rival mob, so this teenager takes over, but he murders one of the guys from the rival mob and spends the rest of the book trying to cover his tracks by murdering one of the guys from his gang and marrying a girl, even though he hates her, just so she can't testify against him in court.

    It's really good.

Agreed. 1984 is one of the best books I've ever had to read for school.
