Thank you for the coment. No you don't sound snotty. I actually left out the country intentionally. I was probably leaning more or less toward italy right before the renessance which coincided with the vikings time period even though history said they never met. This also explains the titles as there were dukes and dutchesses during that time period in italy. They got a jump start on everyone and had ballrooms and other grand kind of tnings

And I guess you could call it a filler, consiering how short it is, but in my opinio nit's not because that was the chapter that pretty much explains why the characters are gonna end up in the predicament that I have planned and how the overall plot of the story came to be.
