Wow, cool, your father must have a lot of stories to tell about that time when Germany was still divided, and so on! That's so cool, really! Of course everybody here, like my parents and all have some kind of story to tell, but it's amazing to hear it from someone who actually have stayed here and in the army! Do you know where -which cities- your father had been to? Berlin maybe ^^? My family is from the West, so it was formerly the American side.

Really? Normally, even when people talks some sort of dialect at home,
in school they'll teach you "Hochdeutsch" that is the standard German, so everybody will understand it, doesn't matter where you'll go. That's sad if they teach something different in the US

Actually my parents always taught me English at home, since I was little, cause they were obsessed about it; they think that children must start learning languages as soon as possible, or they'll never learn (= "Officially", I've been learning English at school since third grade as my first foreign language. I could have chosen French, but meh (=

Yeah, I really like this city, it's a pretty cool one to live in ^^ I still go to school; I don't know exactly how it works in US, if everybody goes to the same high school, but here there are a few types of school a person can attend -mine is especifically preparatory for college, and I still have two years to go till my final examination. It's a bit stressful, but I'll live ^^
