I saw your comment on "Hurt" - it took me ages to even find it because I had to go back and re-read! It's easier to explain if I give the girl from the story a name, so let's call her Claire. Claire tells Marc that the night they met, she also met someone else - referring to Marc's girlfriend, who was at the event. So when Marc's girlfriend saw him talking to Claire, the girlfriend approached Claire and asked her to give Marc a message if he ever tried to cheat. And the message was not to cheat. So Claire let him get close to cheating, then gave him the message and sent him back to his girlfriend. Make sense?
