Not necassarily from a female's point of view, but the female has to be the main character. For example, if it was Pete and Ashlee it could be in 3rd person, but Ashlee would have to be the centre of it all. If you get what I mean? It could be all about how she met Pete and fell in love with him or about her pregnancy with Bronx. Or something to that effect. But it [i]can[/i] be from a female's POV.
