I really appreciate it! & I totally understand! Please don't feel pressured to get it done by a certain time. :)

Yeah, I can do reviews for you. I haven't been on this site in forever, but I will read your work. Keep in mind, I'm doing midterms right now, and while balancing work, it can get hectic. Give me a bit, I'll read what I can. :)

  • Question: do you do reviews? The reason I'm asking is because I saw a post of yours on someone's wall, and you had some really great advice for her. I'm currently editing my novel, and I'm in desperate need of good advice. Finding smart people who actually know what they're talking about is rare, and so I thought I'd push my chances and ask you.

It's around 32k words right now, but I'm not asking you to read the whole thing. It'd be awesome if you could read a few chapters and tell me what you think I could be doing better. It's an original fiction, and it's not on this site. It's sort of a romantic comedy, but there's a lot less romance than that genre would suggest.

I'd be willing to critique any of your pieces on here or elsewhere in exchange, if you'd like. My novel is here. And of course, if you don't have time or just simply don't want to, that's totally fine. Thanks for reading :)

  • @ mastermak911 Hey! How ya doing?

  • Nah, just from little ole Oregon. I am, however, immune to rain because of this place. xD

  • I'll try to find it. :)

I could never read in the car though. I get so carsick, even without reading. My family went on a trip to the coast and I tried to read "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" on the way up there and I nearly puked. That, again, was for my English class, and made me dislike the deadline for this book even more. I actually liked the book, though it got tedious at times.

  • Yes, it is beautiful, but it was so hard to read. xD It's so dense with imagery and symbolism, I had to slave through the book to pass that test. I guessed if I tried to read it for fun, I would've enjoyed it more, but I had to slog my way through the chapters by a deadline every day. xD

  • xD True, anti-heroes are full of those. In my English class, we went through different eras of American literature, right now apparently, anti-heroes show up everywhere. It was kind of cool, though, to read in the different times of literature. I really loved Catcher in the Rye, that was kind of the book that spawned off that kind of writing style, I think. I hated The Scarlet Letter. You had to pick apart each sentence, unravel it, scrutinize the pieces, and then figure out what it means. Ugh.

  • Anti-heroes are the main thing nowadays. xD I mean, they make me feel better about myself. When a character is completely perfect, it's annoying. xD If they have some quirks, then it's much more interesting to read. I feel like I know the character better.

  • Ha! xD I didn't want to just write a "omgzz this is so kewl!!!!11" and then leave it. I didn't think you'd appreciate that. I try to be thorough with my commenting. xD

I actually haven't read many western novels either. I'm all into fantasy and sci-fi, but I do enjoy new types of genres. :) Sometimes I wonder if other cultures read cowboy stuff like we read knights in shining armor stuff. xD You know what I mean?

  • Thanks for the comment on Chroma! :) (I know that it was a week ago when you commented, but I just got it now. xD) And gosh, thanks for catching that mistake, I completely flew over that, how embarrassing. xD Anyway, thank you. :) I appreciate the support.

  • Hi :) thanks for the story comments! I wrote that Percy Jackson one ages ago, so I was really suprised to see comments on it. I agree with what you said - the main character wasn't brilliant it that - that's my trouble with first person, I suddenly find all the other characters so much more interesting :S
And thanks for the comment on helenas violin, which I have only just noticed - it came up as I was writing this! Thank you so much, I am really glad you like it and really appreciate your comment - it was so nice :) I'm not sure whether to continue it, as I've never thought that much about it, because it was for a contest and I was in the middle of exam season so I wrote it in an hour, shoved it on here quickly! Thanks - as I've said a lot of times, but I am very ad to have your comments on the story :)

  • AHH. Thank you so much for the comment on my story. You have no idea how much that meant to me.
I'm very paranoid about people reading anything I write. So when I saw that I had a comment on my story this was my exact reaction:
"Oh my gosh. They hate it. They think I suck at writing. They think I'm stupid and they want me to stop writing for the rest of my life."
And then I read your comment, and it was really nice. So now I feel much better. Thank you!!

  • Thanks for the comment on A Tiny Little Dot! Yeah those first three chapters were actually written almost a year ago so I'm a much better writer now. I've had a lot more practice.

  • Thank you for the comment.
You just gave the reassurance that it was alright.
