And yeah, that's how I got introduced to the book, too. I had to read it in eighth grade, and I sat down to read the assignment of the first chapter...and ended up devouring the whole thing. And I remember staring at the book, tears in my eyes, saying, "Oh my God...Oh my God...OH MY GOD. DID THEY REALLY JUST KILL OFF JOHNNY?!?!?!" It was traumatic. Ha-ha. But as for everyone else in my class, I don't think they even read the book. Or, if they did, they didn't get invested enough in the story. :p But it's awesome that the whole class was as one on that issue. :D

YAY! :) I'm glad that you liked it so much and that I could make you smile. And I think we all did. Well, those of us who are active readers, anyway. It totally was heartbreaking. He was so young and innocent and fragile and just...Johnny-ish. :(

Yeah, it's pretty fun to be able to escape into an alternate universe for a little while, where fictional characters feel real. :D And oh, yeah, that's true. So I'm squealy that you feel that way about my story. Ha-ha.

Oh, I hope it's not weird, since I'm exactly the same way. It's not strange for me to get so into a book or a story that I sit in my room and squeal and giggle and cheer and sniffle dramatically without actually crying. So I hope your reactions aren't strange. ;)

Yeah, same here. And I agree. The casting was perfect, and in the Complete Novel version, the plot goes just like the book. Just...perfection. Ha-ha. And you're free to doubt, but I think it's true. :D And you're absolutely welcome. Just stating a truth.
