I Am to See to It That I Do Not Lose You - Comments

That's such a pretty perspective and yeah I get what you're saying. Stupid thing is that I can't even remember the details of the girl who provoked this poem. I just saw her, thought to myself "Oh, she's pretty" - and voilĂ ! And isn't it funny that all those strangers who may have inspired/triggered your writing don't even know it? Thanks for the comment!

  • Sometimes seeing someone just long enough to get a mental image of who they are on the outside and who they may be on the inside can produce things like this. At least a handful of my "love" poems are loosely based on people who I've never even talked to. Love at first sight is definitely a real thing, though whether it's true love or not is obviously debatable. Anyway, this poem is fantastic!

  • I little something written about no one in particular - some passer-by. And of course, the title is the last line from Whitman's "To a Stranger."
