[I posted this a long time ago on gsb. To both of you guys: I'm sure you both remember that night.. whenever you feel alone.. read this..]

If only I could understand you
If only I could help
If only I knew how you felt

But I can't
And I don't know what to say
Or how to say it
Without making things even worse

Dreading the thought
Of seeing every tear fall out of your eyes
I can see through you
Someone happy in disguise
Covering up every unhappy feeling with a smile
I can see right through you

I'll try to understand
Believe me, I'll try
I'm here for you
We're here for you
I'll try to make things better
I'll try.

I want to know exactly what to say
To scare away every fear
But I can't.

The barrier between me and you
Is invisible, but it's there
It's the line that I can't cross
The border that won't let the saints in
To lay you down,
and make every thing alright.

But for now
All I have to do is be there
Be there for you late at night,
Be there for you when you're trying to win a fight,
I'm here to talk to
I'll be here to try and understand.
