The Reality

Anger pulses through me
Fire rages inside
Questions rise to the surface
As I walk home alone

No love was there
He never cared
Never did he trust
Now I know

Accused of lies
My love has died
Enough of this chaos
I need to move on

His actions caused the anger
His words caused the pain
Yet after it was said and done
I was stronger

Forever was short-lived
That promise didn’t survive
But it was for he best
I’m on to better things

When the anger settles
And the fire dies
Questions are still neglected
But home feels right

My love, his lies
I cared, he dared
I trusted, he pretended
I see the reality

False accusations
Made my love fade
The chaos is over
And I have moved on

Anger has left me
The wounds have healed
It’s all in the past
And I’m stronger then ever

Forever is merely a word
A promise means everything
But it was for the best
And better things have come
