Outpouring

I wish you could taste this now
Questionable on the outside
But soft and sweet like summer rain
A flower that bursts against your tongue
Filling your mind with numb pleasure
Clear and cool like crystal spring

I wish you could hear me now
To not understand what I say loudly
But to listen to what I am thinking
These words these thoughts
Making my lungs burst with the air
Of a thousand words never said

I wish you could feel this now
Not the gritty contact of the world around
But the way my arms ache to hold you
The way my heart cries out for your glance my direction
To break through frigid walls
And reach the illicit

I wish you could see me now
Not the way I appear or how I am covered
But how I dance within
Not contained in this space
Or caged upon the ground
The way my wings break forth

I wish you could taste as I taste
Hear as I hear
Feel as I feel
See the way I can see
And know without a doubt
That it is possible to fly
