Jonathan

We loved with a flame that burned deeper than love
We loved without thought or ponder
I gave him my heart and he tied it to his
But now both of them are six feet under

He dreamed of a life that was better than ours
and he wanted to give that to me
His vision seeked out the good in the world
He wanted to make them all see

The dirt doesn't harm his sparkling eyes
Decay and rot cannot deface him
His body's as fresh as the day he was born
For his soul lets nothing erase him

His heart sang a song that rang purer than true
His voice was the falling rain
He was strong, for the troubles he held were his strength
And he felt more than ten lifetime's pain

But look at him now, as cold as his soul
His glory is taken away.
He was young and brave, It reflects in his face
And all that he ever wanted to say
Is now engraved above his head
And he comes out to sing late at night
All of his life he just wanted one thing
And that was to give the world sight.
