Boo's Ballad

Boo’s Ballad

Two lovers stand, hand-in-hand,
A pretty pair, a steadfast band.
They’re about to be ripped apart—
Tearing from the inside out.

Girl: Hey, Baby, I know we’re through…
But I won’t stop these thoughts of you.
A world without love is cold and dry;
I don’t care if it’s all a lie.

Guy: A lie’s a sin, and that’s not me;
Why can’t you just set me free?
I’m trying to be gentle here,
You’ll find someone, so please don’t fear.

Girl: Oh, please, don’t leave like this.
At least give me just one more kiss?
My entire being’s yearning
Yet it’s me you seem to be spurning…

Guy: Don’t be hurt, I really care.
Stop and think—two girls can’t share.
If we tried we’d just be caught,
And make another girl distraught.

Girl: I guess you’re right, but why not me?
You and me—why can’t we be?
Five minutes out and I’m missing you.
Why don’t you seem to miss me, too?

Guy: You’re not the one that’s leaving, now,
And I didn’t want to sink this low.
I don’t love you anymore—
And with that he shut the door.

She sank to the floor in her despair,
Screaming how it wasn’t fair.
Time goes by, she’s in a daze,
Her own house seems like a maze.

No one’s home, she takes the knife,
Hoping to end her beautiful life.
Hesitating in the air,
All that she can do is stare.

Finally, her courage gone,
She kills herself at the crack of dawn.
Her heart leaks blood onto the floor,
Vampiric carpet begging for more.

Lying there, her breathing slow,
She starts to lose her healthy glow.
And her last words she spoke with dread,
“I wish I’d never longed to be dead.”
