Life and Death

What is life?
A shining light
Slipping away as easily as sand through fingers
Something treasured and held dearly
It is feared, yet unavoidable
Often taken for granted
A horrible curse if you let it be
It can prolong pain
A miraculous gift of you accept it
With it comes joy
The knowledge of its importance is often lacked
What is death?
An opaque dark
Happening as always with the passing of time
Something unable to be prevented
It is feared yet unavoidable
Often taken to, too quickly
A horrible curse if you let it be
It takes away joy
A miraculous gift if you accept it
It heals the incurable pain
The knowledge of its importance is often lacked
