Invincible

I lie on my back,
in a meadow of grass,
watching the stars above, winking through the black.
Nearby, a thunder crash.

It cannot Harm me,
For I Am Invincible.

Clouds, how swiftly they move,
quickly racing 'cross the skies.
As if they have something to prove,
in their short and ephemeral lives.

I have Nothing For Which to Worry.
For I Am Invincible.

Rain, it falls in sheets.
Yet, here still I lie,
as the wind flattens weeds,
and I stare up into the sky.

I have No Fear.
For I Am Invincible.

She draws near,
and the storm passes on.
I have nothing to fear.
Though, strangely, my heart is gone.

I Am Invincible.

A warm embrace.
A lingering kiss.
A beautiful face.
Never felt like this.

I Am Invincible.

Gone, Gone,
Cannot find her.
Her memory lingers on.
Why, I'm not sure.

I Am Afraid.

NO, STAY AWAY,
DON'T COME NEAR.
I must keep it at bay,
this they call fear.

For I Am Invincible.

Here in a lightning flash,
borne away by a storm,
Nearby, a Thunder Crash.
I flinch, and huddle down, feeling forlorn.

I Am Broken.

I lie on the ground.
The clouds move on.
The Moon shines softly down.
I look up... But the stars are gone.

I Am Invincible.
But I Am Alone...
