After Cinderella

Maybe not everyone gets a fairytale,
Maybe not everyone can breathe without air.
Maybe her mask was on too tight,
Maybe her shoe wasn't on just right.
Maybe the clock struck midnight,
Or maybe the hand was off just slight.
Maybe this makes no sense at all,
But this is what happened after the ball.

Her godmother failed,
On the floor, her blood trailed.
Screaming filled the air,
Because not everyone gets treated fair.
She was beaten and abused,
She had always been used.
And where was Prince Charming after that?
On his throne, there he sat.
This isn't after Cinderella came,
This is when someone else took the blame.

She was told not to cry,
Running away, she could not try.
Locked up in the tower,
This was after hours.
When the village went dark,
And the demons left their mark.
She was lying left weak,
Her voice was stolen, she could not speak.
Maybe this makes no sense at all,
But this is what happened after midnight made its call.

Her godmother failed,
On the floor, her blood trailed.
Screaming filled the air,
Because not everyone gets treated fair.
She was beaten and abused,
She had always been used.
And where was Prince Charming after that?
On his throne, there he sat.
This isn't after Cinderella came,
This is when someone else took the blame.

He came later with his white horse and carriage,
And Cinderella left for her marriage.
Upstairs a soul cried,
For she really had tried.
Then she smiled her demon-like smile,
And thought for quite a while.
Upstairs is where she stood,
Revenge she would get, she knew she would.
And maybe this makes no sense at all,
But this is where Cinderella would fall.

Her godmother failed,
On the floor, her blood trailed.
Screaming filled the air,
Because not everyone gets treated fair.
She was beaten and abused,
She had always been used.
And where was Prince Charming after that?
On his throne, there he sat.
This is after Cinderella came,
And someone else took all her fame.
