The Little Boy

I remember the first time you asked me to dance
I loved your innocent brown eyes, so I said yes
I remember the song was just a musical mess
But still I loved every second of it

I remember the witty little jokes you told
the way they made me laugh so loud I acted bold
I remember they way you said, you'd never turn out like him
Even though you were supposed to

But too fast you grew,
And so the boy I thought I knew

You faded away
You grew up to fast
You were lost at sea
Stuck in a void ignoring the past
You got caught up in you wants
Ignoring your needs
Lost in a world of selfishness and impurity

They poisoned your mind
Your judgment was clouded
disappointment filled my eyes
But I won't cry over you

I realize that people change
But I had hoped you'd always stay the same
If that little boy could see you now
would he smile, or would he frown?

But too fast you grew,
And so the boy I thought I knew

You faded away
You grew up to fast
You were lost at sea
Stuck in a void ignoring the past
You got caught up in you wants
Ignoring your needs
Lost in a world of selfishness and impurity

I remember the first time you asked me to dance
I loved your innocent brown eyes, so I said yes

I miss the little boy I thought I knew...
