I lay here

I lay here staring at the rain,
feeling like I'm falling too.
The higher up the clouds you go,
the faster comes the fall.

I lay here looking at the ceiling,
lost in the swirling white.
Yet in the middle of the caos,
is a fading light.

I sit here staring at the floor,
it's just as plain as always.
It's what keeps your feet up off the ground,
yet it's not given a second glance.

I sit here looking out the window,
towards the endless fields of green.
Some thing snaps inside me,
I'll hide beyond the horizon.

I stand here laughing in the rain,
hiding deep inside the pain.
The smile is never in my eye,
but no one ever looks there now.

I stand here clutching at the knife,
a real smile playing on my lips.
I catch your eye through the mist,
and dig deep into my wrist.

I lay here staring beyond the horizon,
laughing through the pain...
I lay staring at the end,
crying in the rain...
