From me...

I’m from disapointments and the lingering music in my head
From the forbidden romances that never began,
and the loss of childhood wishes.
From the fading light of a dying day and the dredges of mafia connections,
looking for somebody.
From a peaceful front yard,
where I learned to fall with grace.
From the tree house that never came,
that built fantasy in my life.
From learning to re-invent myself,
where no one could see the progress.
From a summer dawn run in the park,
where no one could ever catch me.
From a long battle that never ended,
for it seemingly just began.
From the dreams of every other girl,
That I was determined to actually achieve.
I am who I am because of my persistence.
Because of these I have learned to love or hate myself,
and fear what might happen with change.
