Grenades

Sun wakes up low in the morning
Rising only for the new day
This passage isn’t pleasing
The dark is finding its way

The beginning is the end
Lost without the resentment
Just let it mend
Something it can implement

I’m throwing grenades tonight,
The metal spikes and splintered bones
Boom, Crash, Ignite
Our ears refuse to hear the moans

Breath is escaping, small, fast puffs
Feet barely hit the ground
Hair gathered, pulled tufts
Nothing, not a single sound

Gossamer swings, with a senseless breeze
Falling hard, feet losing grip
Up and away with forgotten ease
With the vengeful thoughts beginning to slip

I’m throwing grenades tonight,
The metal spikes and splintered bones
Boom, Crash, Ignite
Our ears refuse to hear the moans

Fire burns in our nostrils,
Smoke stings and pains our eyes
Brushing away her shiny, blonde tendrils
Speak of all those dishonest lies

The heart will betray you
Make you see what you want
The black will hide the true
Bringing forth love to flaunt
