Phone Call

Eleven o'clock at night,
The sky as dark as ink.
Phone ringing below my pillow,
Your name flashing on screen.
I answer, tired, surprised,
Your voice fills my ears.
If I close my eyes I can imagine,
That you are still here.
Your arms wrapped around me,
Your lips brushing my neck.
Keeping me close to you as,
Both of us lying awake.
But then it's a goodbye,
I press the red button on the right.
You're gone, miles across the see,
And I'm left alone all night.
