Beware The Poet

Give me a prayer
A sound, a beg, a plead
Gamble away your mortal soul
But not to denizens of darkness or despair
Amplify your shouts into the heavens
With a loudspeaker made of plastic
No one's listening
Because that one shout is drowned out
By the shouts of millions of others
With the same voices and the same problems
The very mistake...
That makes us all human
If an ant screamed at you would you listen to it?
Given even the moronic idea that English is it's first language...
What if that one ant was replaced by thousands? millions? billions?
The swarm of the life-force
The emptiness of despair
Hopelessness cries out for hope
What are you shouting for?
Give me that loudspeaker
I will tell you to stop shouting
Start thinking
Stop being told what to do
And tell yourself what to do
Of course I just told you that
Ignore this rambling poet
