Reflection

You see your reflection,
But could that be you?
Your face so lifeless,
And lacking in hue.

You miss your smile,
That once danced across your face.
You miss the warmth,
That you found in this place.

There used to be color
And fire in your eyes,
But that was before sadness
Was your disguise.

Once upon a time,
You were full of delight.
Until that fateful day,
Or was it a fateful night?

That memorable night,
Beneath the full moon's glow.
You cried a sullen good bye,
Never wanting them to go.

Yet they still slipped away
Right before your eyes.
They simply would not wait
Despite your pleas and cries.

Now you're left here,
So cold and alone.
With no kind words to sooth you,
And no safe place to call home.
