Getting Colder Now Again.

Chicago's getting colder while i'm shut out in the rain,
and when the sun sets into the road, i'll take the express home again.
To where i never knew myself, and never i will find,
the only thing i know for sure is that i'm still left behind.

Well the plane leaves the runway for the millionth time,
and the people don't know that i've been left behind.
I should be flying to a city that seems a thousand years away,
in a snowglobe of dreams that i escape to every day.

where the road are never ending and the nights will never end,
and a million lost lovers are searching their dead-ends,
in the wind and the rain, but it wouldn't matter to me there,
and i could sit awake for hours and i wouldn't even care.

oh, chicago's getting colder now, and i only wish i knew,
every pattern of the snow flake that could speed me there to you,
where the windows condense, but out of them i wish i'd see,
oh the city that lies there, but it's not waiting for me.

They don't ever know how much i want to be,
in the place where i might belong, let me see.
and it's my life and my dream i'll be running from the sea,
and i know this town won't miss me but, The city's out there waiting for me.
