Aluminum Lid Hideout

Stationary wrecking ball
Dripping perspiration
Safety locked and unloaded
Turret anticipation
Weaving up and hunkering down
Glowing warm cocoon
Stepping in on stepping around
Things will change to the
Same thing soon

Moving forward
Just enough to settle in
Dive in the deep end
To prove you don’t know how to swim
Won’t lose your hand cause
You don’t wanna go out on a limb

Taking this hand and putting on a smile tonight
And maybe then no one will see the morning light

Reaching out
To reach it further in
Picking up
To climb in another rubbish bin
Not believing
But still in self-professed sin

Maybe in the morning, everything will be alright
So slide back down, and pull that shaky hand right out of sight
