I Am Their Voice

I’m at a loss for words, this routine is getting old.
It’s hard to stay above the surface,
To keep on fighting,
When losing is all we know.

This is what we wanted our lives to be.
Coast to coast, mile to mile,
Following footsteps of giants now it’s our turn.
An eye for an eye, a dream for a dream, we’ve made it.

It was never quite as easy
as it was before you and I lost touch.
Maybe we can take some time to ponder,
The other side isn’t as serene as we hoped.

We’re only ten pages in, we’ve just begun,
And yet we’ve lost all track of time.
All these dotted lines move faster, blurred together,
We watch as night turns into day.
