Surrounded.

I'll walk down the hallways of my noisy high school
Surrounded with reminders
That I'm all alone.
Surrounded with reminders
That I'm not the only one alone.
Surrounded with people who are also alone.

Scattered cards and flowers flying over my head
One happens to land at my feet
I'll glance down wishing it were my name
printed on the tag of a single red rose.

As stupid as it seems
I know that deep inside
I'll walk the school hallways
With my head down
With my sight fixed at my shoes
hitting the card littered ground.

Not to expect a thing
I won't bother to get my hopes up
When all I ask is to put everything behind me
And let every thing go
That won't happen because no one will save me.
I'm surrounded.
