Testify

Here’s to the kids who live in the music.
Who marched in the black parade.
Who live in a nation controlled by the media.
Who love the way that the tease.
We are the ones who believe that the colors won’t change.
But we change the way that we see them.

We give into the music
And believe that it will show us the way.
Who tell our siblings to put down their needles.
And leave this town.
We rely on it to show us our mistakes.
‘Because we don’t just want to be another notch in a bed posts,
Or a line in a song.

We keep trying.
We try because we believe that no one should have to say so long or goodnight for good.
We testify that sometimes things have to be sung
And screamed from the rooftops.
We know that we are going down.
And believe that tonight should be the last night to be alone.

This is our unholy confession
To closing the god damn door.
And wanting to be the one
To see the distance from the road.

We know we may not be ok.
But meet some where in-between
Come as you are.
We build a community of our own
And let our alliances freely be known.
So let the tears fall free,
And stand up nice and tall.
We stand together.
Because no one should have to stand alone.
