Regret (That You Didn't Say You Loved Her)

So this is the story of a girl,
Who adored this one boy,
Yet she could not understand,
How he could treat her like a toy.

He messed with her head.
Because he was all that she could see,
Yet he refused point blank,
That they weren’t meant to be.

He said he was too busy,
To devote his life to her,
There was no way that he could let,
Love between them to occur.

But she was not one to give up.
She knew she loved him so,
And each and every day she saw him,
She begged him not to go.

She knew that he loved her,
But he was too scared to admit it,
Even though inside his heart, his feelings,
Were like a candle brightly lit.

He loved just how she smiled,
And the way she touched her hair,
And the way she always laughed,
Just to show him that she cared.

And each and every day,
It got harder for them both,
Until finally in the end,
She decided she couldn’t cope.

Something ticked inside her,
She realised he just did not care,
Because if he really did,
Wouldn’t he be there?

So the boy sat there waiting,
Wondering where she could go.
And he was forced to sit in wait,
But sin the end she never did show.

So he was forced to call her up,
Begging for her to answer her phone,
Asking himself why,
His love could never be shown.

And when she did not answer,
He started to slowly panic,
And raced towards her house,
Until he finally found it.

A gleaming knife blinked up at him,
There was blood all on the floor,
No one else was there to see,
Her curled up into a ball,

He dropped down to his knees,
And held her cold hands in his,
And slowly he bent down,
And gave her one last bloody kiss.

He never could forget,
How much he loved her so,
And he asked himself repeatedly,
Why did she have to go?

Why hadn’t he admitted he loved her?
Why hadn’t he said I do?
Why hadn’t he called her his?
And said baby, I love you too?

There is a moral to this story boys,
I hope you heed my words,
Your actions, you words,
They cut like blazing swords.

And you will never know,
Just how much she means to you,
Until the time where you regret,
That you never said I love you.
