Comply

Another day, another dream
Another vision, or so it seems
Clouded judgement is a given,
Considering the way that I'm living
You can count me out,
As soon as the Sun goes down at five

The deadline, the curfew
Meant for just us two
Just enough amount of time
To wander each other's minds
Mental playground; will you comply?
I'll meet you at lost and found

The call, the plans
Slipped right through our hands
Not by chance;
Secret protection from the dance of three
Love triangles;
Better you than me

For all that it entangles
Is better left unseen
But seeing is not needed
When the truth is felt so deep
A tool that enables everything to leak;
All parties flee

Of embarrassment;
Oh, look at my glass fence
I bet you never would have guessed,
So easily let in, then broken
There's many things left untold,
But I already know

Easy to see when you look inside;
You were given the opprotunity,
And you went along for the ride

That urge, that instinct,
The second guess; worry
You thought you lie
And you complied

You had to get untied
Get out, open your wings and fly
Leave what had happened behind
Pull up the past and drive
Make then now,
Set up a new future,
Reverse the rolls
You just had to go

The kiss--
Whose idea was it?
Yours or his?
No, wait--
Do I even want to know?

I see who won this race,
And I came in second
It didn't have to matter,
But of course I let it
For putting myself out there,
You have to give me credit

I'll cover this wound with gauze
Not as much has been lost as I initially thought
Tell me,
Foolish response to an unworthy cause?

Apologies and tears,
Acting on fear
Exchange of words,
The air is clear
I pushed you away,
But I still feel you near
You're supposed to be gone,
What are you doing here?
