He Said She Said

so this is kinda the way things went
it was a he said she said thing
but anyway listen up!

he said "can you do me a favor?"
she said "sure anything for you"
he said "i want you to hold on"
she said "i will as long as your there to hold on to"
he said "i will be there even when im not"
she said "okay then you can count on me with that favor"
he smiled
she smiled
he said "well i gotta go, shows about to start"
she said "okay have fun call me when your done?"
he said "sure thing, my dear"

and with a smile they hung up

later that night

ring ring ring

she said "hello"
he said "hey there"
she smiled
he laughed
she said "what are you laughing at?"
he said "i just know that's your smiling"
she said "so me being happy is a funny thing?"
he said "no! no its just that i know you so well"
she said "oh well then*giggles*"
he said "you wanna know something?"
she said "yes! of coarse"
he said "well i love you"
she was silent
he said "sweetie..?"
she was still silent
he said "im sor-"
she cut him off
"i love you too"

later on in that week

she said
"i cant keep holding on! there's nothing to hold on to!"
she cried
"your never here to hold on to!"
she wiped her tear
"i just wanted you and all i got was this empty space!"
she cried again
"i cant do this you cant be here!"
she once again wiped her tears
"i love you but your not here!"
she said the last in a whisper
"i well always love you but i cant hold on forever"
she cried once more

her tears fell
her heart ached
her eyes looked up
and then right in that moment

she smiled
he smiled
she said "i cant hold on to nothing"
he said "you have me to hold on to now"
she said "i love you"
he said "i love you too"
