Behind Closed Doors

You saw me at school everyday;
You never had anything to say.
I made you think my life was perfect,
But in the end, was it worth it?

My father was always drunk,
My mother never home;
So as you look back at your life
Was there something you should have known?

I got in trouble everyday;
After school- teachers made me stay.
I could have done better,
But then I wrote the letter.

"Mother, father, sister," it read,
"I will soon be joining the dead.

You were terribly parents,
I've always hated you,
And as for you sister-
You're a bitch too."

I'm going to leave this earth,
Once and for all.
I've done all I could,
I'm ready for my final fall."

I thought you'd want to help;
To be all that you could be,
But you've run out of time-
Isn't it clear to see?

People like me are dying everyday;
If people cared a bit more,
Things wouldn't be this way.

I was only 17, but I saw more than I should.
So when you look back at your life,
Have you done all you could?
