A Summer

A summer
Jeans rolled up to
our knees
Rivers
Oh, that cold water

A summer
Barefoot
Sweaty
Freckles on your
nose
from not wearing
sunscreen

A summer
Strawberry ice cream
Drip
Drop
Droop
On your finger
I licked it off

A summer
Shirts off
Tar burning our backs in
that empty parking lot
Bunny clouds
Fish clouds
Was that a shoe?

A summer
Our fingers laced
together
Stars shining
No, not stars
Streetlights shining
Mosquitoes

A summer
Slick skin sliding
You on your back
Legs around my waist
My teeth at your
shoulder
Cries of ecstasy,
drowned
by the
air conditioning

A summer
Treetops
Now, there's stars
Lips melded
that final taste of
each other

A summer
Our love
A fling
That's all

Yeah, so this isn't that good; I don't do poetry. But it wouldn't have worked as a short story, so bear with me. Comments will re-establish my self-esteem ;-] *cough*
