Reoccurring Dreams

Just like Romeo and Juliet, lovers died in silhouette, I walk these painted hallways for you
With torn soles and blistered toes trotting on this empty dirt road, just to see your smile once again
Girl I want you by my side in this hallowed cave of ice with where polar bears sleep 20 feet below
With turning fans and empty cans of soda pop I take a stand and vow my love for you

And as I lie awake with sleepy eyes thinking of those other guys that had a chance and threw it all away
I watch you sob and weep and cry and wish I could just cast aside all my doubts and fears and talk to you

These reoccurring dreams of you and me are happy as sun-blossomed love.

Just like James and Miss Rae, lovers never gotten away, I walk these lonely streets for you
With an empty heart and broken dreams, I wander these cities, just to hear you voice again
Girl I’ve got you on my mind, I don’t know what I’m gonna find, where no heart can rest in peace down below
With turning dials and passing miles, begging for the laughs and the smiles, and swear to give you my heart true.
