insane stares

When love is scarce,

And home means war,

You hide away,

And you shut the door.

Your scars are itching,

With infected tears,

They rule your life,

They fuel your fears.

When school is torture,

And friends bring pain,

You flee outside,

You sing in the rain.

You smile and you laugh,

Being watched from afar,

You feel the stares,

So you raise the bar.

It's time for perfection.

A failure no more,

You strive to be hungry,

You're lost to your core.

Desperate for attention,

You're lonely for love,

Hurt by the stares,

Lost faith in above.

The eyes that watch you,

They seek out the lies,

They smother your future,

And cut out your cries.

You hear the voices,

They poison your mind,

Confusing your trust,

Now you're harder to find.

Your best friend is sick,

Diseased to her core,

She lies and she stares,

You understand more.

She watches you always,

Designed you to be,

A paranoid illness,

A failure to me.

She groomed you for sickness,

And starved you of me,

Destroying your confidence,

You cannot see.

You stumble and follow,

Her whispers and screams,

Obeying an evil,

That's not what it seems.

Never free from anger,

Not free of the stares,

You begin to accept,

That nobody cares.

Lost to the madness,

You led your demise,

Now watch all your loved ones,

Swallow her lies.

Blind to the truth,

Or love that was near,

You're all alone,

And that was your fear.

Insane with the sickness,

There is no cure,

We watch you again,

As you follow the lure
