Dead and Gone
My breathing gets slower
As my life fades away
My skin color a little duller
As everything goes gray
It is now my time
But I think, why me?
This wasn't supposed to be my fate
A lifeless corpse to be
Tell my wife I love her
Tell my children to be brave
I can't stand to think
That they'll linger over my grave
My casket will return
With the colors of red, white, and blue
Please don't cry for me
Because I'll watch over all of you.
As my life fades away
My skin color a little duller
As everything goes gray
It is now my time
But I think, why me?
This wasn't supposed to be my fate
A lifeless corpse to be
Tell my wife I love her
Tell my children to be brave
I can't stand to think
That they'll linger over my grave
My casket will return
With the colors of red, white, and blue
Please don't cry for me
Because I'll watch over all of you.
