My Requiem

He led me to a garden foll of lush, blossoming roses
There was a multitude of decorative statues, all in different poses
The scenery was breathtaking, his charm alluring
When with him, I was unaware of anything else that might have been occurring

The light from the moon gave everything in the garden a silver glow
Of his cruel, dark intentions, I did not know
I had no clue there was a knife hidden behind his back,
Or that his soul which seemed so pure was truly black

He led me to a stone bench and bade me sit down
He told me close my eyes and not to look around
He said he had a surprise for me that would steal my breath
I would never have guessed that his surprise for me was death

At first, when he told me the truth, I thought it was a cruel jest
But then he plunged the knife deep into my chest
I could do nothing but silently cry,
As he kissed me softly and left me to die
