Somewhere

Night after night i wait patiently,
for the moon to appear in my windows view,
I catch a glimpse every so often of the man,
the one that resides on my nightlight.

I wonder if he see's me from up there,
staring at him with envy
he lives the life i long for
It really isn't fair.

What does my moon hold on the other side?
What does it hide?
i wish i were on the moon,
with the man that has a shocked face.

I don't belong, surrounded by aliens,
Truly i am the alien but everyone knew it,
except for me, ignorant to my nature
but i don't belong on the moon.

Too different from the species there,
and too odd to belong to earth.
Somewhere in between is my home.
looking down at earth and up to the moon

Always looking up and down at what
could have been but never was.
always in the wrong place never home,
i know where i belong, its not here or there

somewhere in between is my home.
