Finding The Sanity We Had Lost

Why do we do this to each other?
Why do we hurt one another?
Shouldn’t we save ourselves?
I obviously have feelings for you
I never really knew
But now I’ve convinced myself
That it’s true.

These verbal bombs we drop
Does it seriously make us look tough?
I have these feelings I want to show you
‘Cause now I’ve had enough

of our lies
of our silent cries
of our disguise
of which I despise

I see the beauty inside
Behind that obnoxious pride
Darling, tell me the truth
‘Cause I can see
That you feel the same for me.

All we’re doing is hurting ourselves
So please, together,

Let’s shut our mouths
Let’s drop these weapons
Instead, open up our arms
and fall into each other
Supporting one another
‘Cause we’re both in pain
and this war between us,
In a way, make us sane.

The reason we inflect pain towards the other
Is because we were hurt by another
So instead of hurting that person back
We found each other to attack

It’s hard to believe that through this battle
With plans that were, oh so crafty,
That with the help of each other
We actually found our sanity.
