My eyes shall never open,
I refuse to wake

I see you
And all your beauty,
With a smile on your face

I take your hand;
My heartbeat fades
I’m short of breath,
My lungs deflate

You hold me close;
I fade away
I look into your eyes,
And my power decays
I will not fight;
I have no heart rate

You touch my face,
My blood is still
My body shakes;
My eyes dilate

You kiss my lips;
I grow cold
Loved ones cry,
I was only 16 years old

I look into your eyes;
It’s time to go
One last look at my lifeless body,
And then I’m home…
