(This Is) Life

We are young souls
With no experience
Life is difficult at least

We walk aimless
Among others
Who, like us, float in the breeze

We seek gentlemen
Or maidens
Who our pain will swiftly ease

Just to find ourselves alone
Heartbroken
Wanting of a little peace

I myself have no more wisdom
Than the wiser of your thoughts
But my years on earth have taught me
A lesson which never rots

You can search in all the corners
Of this barren, awful lands
But by following those others
Your crop will always be scarce

Live life by a brand new rulebook
Which you can then call your own
Every time you need some solace
Run to where you’ll find a home

It can be a tree, a room, a hobbie
Maybe even a music note
A patch of grass you find cozy
Or the arms of one true love

Never surrender to empty
Weak, darkly frivolous thoughts
Never value one by money
Essence is what really glows

Give me passion and redemption
One shiny and eventful star
And life will seem a rich mansion
Where you can tend to your scars

Evil will always be around you
You must only rise above
Gather strength and at the right cue
Enslave it so you won’t sob

Never lose from you the fire
The innocence of your dreams
Fight lost battles, don’t you tire
You’ll win the war by all means

When you’re about to give in
And you think you’re broken glass
Remember life is an art form
Whose expectations you pass

Because you live by your own code
Because you act on your heart
Even if ill should cut your path
You’ll be remembered as grand

Search for the truth inside darkness
Look for love which never fades
Forget people's dreadful madness
Make sure you will never daze

Read this as a block of magic
Read it as a block of faith
For those who live without beauty
Are forever washed away
