a blade too close,
blood left to shed,
torture to be given,

pain to be inflicted,
birth left to give,
love to be tender,
and life left to live

life took too young,
a sentence carried too soon,
murder a burden too late,
birds left with no tune

the deep dark moon hung low in the sky,
