Forgiveness

Forgiveness – By Paul M. Prescott

I hold
pole position
on a mission
indecision creeping,
up on me steadily but I'm still keeping
track of time,
I decide not to wait, nor awake from this pleasant sleeping
and dream not of you
but in front of you, in clear view,
for all to see and therefore you can't see me.
I undertake tasks,
not asked of me by the better people
I understand diversity
and how we are all created equal
but love doesn't feature in decisions made in haste
lay to waste prior plans and invade with great distaste....
The lack of action,
my reaction, only instinctive and so crude
was ever faithful to an image
I pretended to allude.
just lay down these false pretences
and facetious attitudes
and forgive in love's great splendour
with your tender gratitude.
