Broken Glass

I was once like a mirror,
Where what you get is what you see.
That was until one day,
When someone desided to break me.
So now I'm shattered glass,
In every direction on the floor.
Now I'm broken peices that just break and break more.
I used to hold together just fine,
But something changed in my state of mind.
Since that day you broke me,
I'm all over the place.
Since that day you broke me,
You're the person it's hard to face.
Everything is disportioned,
And distorted all around.
I only wish I could help you,
Instead of shut you out.
'Cause all I can do here,
Is cut you apart.
Because when you're broken,
You can't do any good.
You can't stop pain,
You just begin to cause it.
Through each broken peice,
You seem pointless and insane.
With questions like,
"Why don't you throw it away?"
And, "Why is it still here?"
Things that make you wish,
You weren't a mirror.
You wish you weren't as open,
Or as easy to see.
You wish you weren't as easy to know,
As everyone had seen.
Maybe you wouldn't be broken,
If you wouldn't have tried.
Maybe you wouldn't be broken,
If things just went right.
